We offer both Funeral Services and Cremation Services:
Funeral services offer comfort. Viewing the embalmed body in a peaceful state during visitation makes it easier for family and friends to say goodbye and to gain closure. Private time is reserved for family before the public visitation. Floral arrangements, photographs, personal mementos and other special items foster memories and help us pay honor to the life lived. Generally, visitations last for two to six hours the day before the funeral.
Traditional Funeral Services
Visitation may continue up to the time of the service. Our family reception room offers a place to gather and spend time with those who have come to share in your loss. The traditional funeral service is held in our funeral home, a church or special place chosen by the family. Funerals often consist of scripture readings, prayers, eulogy, video memorial, a sermon and music. Following the service a vehicle procession leaves for the cemetery. At the cemetery, pallbearers transfer the casket from the funeral coach to the gravesite. Family and friends are led in remarks or prayers before final goodbyes are made. The final placement of the body in an earthen grave is called Interment.
Graveside Service
Families gather at the grave site where a brief ceremony is held to honor the memory of the deceased. Prayers and remarks are said before final goodbyes are made. Most families choose to have a luncheon reception after the services at the cemetery. This is an informal gathering where families greet those in attendance. These luncheon receptions are held at the church, community building or a restaurant. Meals can be catered to suit every taste and budget.
Cremation is a personal and family decision that is often part of a final tribute to a loved one. Families may be unaware of the options they have and decisions they may need to make when a loved one dies. Remember, cremation does not limit your choices in creating a final memorial, or visitation. After cremation, remains may be placed in an urn and the memorialization of your choice can then be fulfilled.
