Laird\nRoy E. Laird, age 83, of Philadelphia passed away on December 14, 2020.\nRoy can best be described as a true family man. It all began when he married the Love of his life, Eileen, on October 22, 1960. They had 3 daughters whom they raised at their home in Philadelphia. Roy cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. It always brought him great joy to see them have fun, whether it was at the pool in his backyard, the holiday parties that he would host, or attending his grandchildren's many activities. He loved all kinds of food and had a great appetite. His only preferences were that the portions were large, and it was paired with a pint of Guinness.\nRoy loved his country and was a patriot his entire life. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Military and proudly served as a member of the Marine Corps. After serving his country honorably, he became a master tile setter. He took great pride in his work. That pride in craftsmanship carried over to his home projects and could be seen in the fireplace and garden that he built.\nHe is the beloved Husband of Eileen M. (nee McGuire). Loving Father of Kimberlee (the late John) Berish, Lisa (Chris) Remus & Diane (Fran) Mallee. Devoted grandfather of Tyler, Tori, Lexie, Marissa, Drew and Brett. \nDue to the current COVID restrictions, a funeral Mass will be held at St. Martha Church at a later date, when family and friends can safely gather.
