Monte Banning, III Obituary (2024) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Monte C. Banning, III, age 64, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 15, 2024. Born in Wilmington, DE on October 10, 1959, he was the son of the late Monte C. Banning, Jr. and Barbara P. (Penrod) Banning. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1978 and made his career in Flooring and Tile. Monte was admired and revered by everyone he encountered for his skilled cooking, talent and love of pool and advocating for Prader-Willi Syndrome. He had a personality that would light up a room. Everyone who met him, loved him. Everyone who knew him, will miss him very much. Cherish the memories and remember the good times that you shared with him – that is what he would want most. Above all, he will be remembered as a devoted father, friend and Grandpa who thrived on spending time with his beloved grandchildren. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lloyd, and her husband, Thomas, of Woolwich, NJ; 2 grandchildren, Adaline and Silas; along with many close family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 22, 2024, at New Castle United Methodist Church, 510 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Foundation for Prader-Willi Research. Contributions in Monte's memory will continue his legacy of making the future bright for his grandson, Silas, who lives with PWS.
