Matthew G. Dzwoniarek

Matthew G. Dzwoniarek, age 37, of Philadelphia, lost his long struggle with substance abuse on October 2, 2026

He was the beloved son of Linda and (the late) Frank Dzwoniarek. Brother of Fran, Maura (Tim) Gerard, and Brian. Uncle of Kyle, Tyler, Gwen, and Lucas. Godson of Paul and Maryanne Klein. Matthew is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Matthew had a generous heart and a deep love for Jesus. Sadly, his addiction robbed him of his great potential in life but he did enjoy working as a roofer with Mr. Z.

May Matthew rest peacefully now that his suffering is over. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. His mother is thankful to the friends who reached out and tried to help him through the years, especially Kevin Starace.

There will be a visitation at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia PA 19154 on Friday, October 9, 2026 from 9:30 - 11 AM. His Funeral Mass will begin at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, Matthew's family requests a Mass Intention in memory of Matthew at your parish or Our Lady of Calvary Church.
