Lawrence Suermann

Lawrence (Larry) Suermann of Philadelphia Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully on September 18, 2026 in his home.

Larry was born on January 1, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School and spent his career between the Defense Mapping Agency and his wife’s family’s business, Vince’s Pizzeria. Larry, an avid Philadelphia sports fan, was never without a kind word, a joke, or a story to share with the many people that crossed paths with him in life. Above all, Larry was a devoted family man who beamed with pride when telling you about his many adventures with his wife, his daughter, and his grandchildren. He cherished his vacations with his wife to Jamaica. We imagine that his heaven comes complete with butler service, plenty of dessert, and a crystal blue ocean that is just cool enough to be refreshing.

Larry is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Gerry, his daughter Natasha (Kevin), his grandchildren, Caila, Cassidy (Paul), Violet, and Kevin. He is also survived by his siblings, Miriam (Ron), Joe (Kathy), Mike (Donna), Anne (the late Frank), Paul (Barbara), Clare (Mike), Rita (Lee), Terri (the late Joe), Bob (Jane), and Rich (Donna) along with many nieces and nephews. Welcoming him to heaven were his mother, Miriam, and his father, Joseph, along with the sweet pups who he adored over the years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from 9:15-10:30 AM at Saint Martha Church, 11301 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
