Laura Grippo

Laura Grippo (nee Cavalucci), passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2026, at the proud age of 100 1/2.

Laura was born and raised in Casacanditella, Italy and bravely came to the United States in her 20's to build a life for herself. Without knowing the language here, she acquired a job as a seamstress making suits. Later she worked in the dietary department at Friends Hospital for many years, a job she greatly enjoyed. One of the happiest days of her life was when she became a United States citizen.

Laura was a devout Catholic who faithfully prayed to the Blessed Mother and Saint Padre Pio daily with her long list of prayer intentions for family, friends and anyone who needed prayers. She loved cooking homemade meals, and especially making jarred tomatoes with her family. Most of all, Laura loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished the time spent with them.

Laura was predeceased by her husband, Louis A. Grippo, Sr.

Beloved Mother of Louis Anthony Grippo, Jr. (late Genevieve), Elaine (William "Butch") Dawkins, and Roseanne (Robert) Mangle; loving Mom Mom of Diana Grippo, Eric Grippo, Jennifer (Matthew) Cocci, Tina (Kieran) Walsh; and doting Great Grandmother of Mia Cocci, Quinn Cocci, and Lyla Walsh.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing and funeral on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 9:30 AM until 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154; followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem.
