KEITH WALTER GEORGE
Keith W. George, age 58, of Philadelphia, and what many would have called, the heart of the George family, passed away suddenly on April 30, 2022.
Keith was the definition of Family Man. Losing his father at the tender age of five, Keith learned early that life was fleeting and to be lived. He centered his world around his late and cherished mother, Marianne Tudor George, aka “Fred”, His wife, children, brothers, cousins, and other extended family members. His grandchildren were the light of his life and while robbed of time with them, and they with him, he will remain forever part of their hearts. He was a master keeper of family history, sharing endless moments from much-loved summers in Margate, New Jersey with Grandpop Walt, and Grandmom Isabelle, to life in Kensington, Philadelphia. He was a man with no strings or conditions and with very few words made you feel important and loved.
Keith was a bus operator for SEPTA and a former truck driver. He was a member of Mitchell Masonic Lodge No. 81 in Chestnut Hill for over 35 years and served as a Past Worshipful Master. He was unimpressed with titles, had a deep love for America and traditional values, told funny stories, gave the most heartfelt hugs, believed family first, loved cold Buds and shots of Old Grandad, devoured Whitehouse hoagies, drove his truck with pride, and loved dogs. He adored his dog Eddie Money Mae, and all the many who preceded her, his grand dog Olive, and his family member’s dogs along with everybody’s else dogs. And they loved him back. He fought lung cancer and won. He treated people on his bus with dignity, even when he was not always given the same respect
He laughed big and lived hard and this world will absolutely not be the same without his warm smile. The long-standing family tradition of raising a glass, “to family” will not end with his death, but it will carry more meaning than ever before. To Keith, to family. We love you, man.
Cherished husband of Lisa A. (nee Lazicki), proud father of Victoria Malveiro (George), brother of Raymond George (Wendy), Bryan George (Kendall Ellis), honorary brother, cousin Dan Dolt (Barbara) and beloved grandfather, “Pop” to Max and Meeka Malveiro. In addition, Keith was stepfather to Kevin, Dan (Alicia) and step grandfather to Evelyn, and the treasured uncle of Heather (Brian), Lauren (Lauren), Stephanie (Kevin), Katherine (Dan) and Brandon, along with everybody’s favorite cousin, nephew, and family guy, “Sonny.”
