John J. Craig, III, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the age of 80.
Beloved husband of 57 years to Helene M. (nee Basquill); loving father of Christopher, John IV, and Carrie (Matt) Meier; cherished grandfather of Leila, John V, Julia, Warren, and Cash; and dear father-in-law of Melissa. John will also be deeply missed by his siblings, Rosemarie Craig, Elizabeth (Terry) Wing, Robert (Joan) Craig and the late Dennis (Jane) Craig. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law, Jerry Mozzone, sister-in-law, Noreene Basquill and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by the staff and residents of The Delaware Valley Veteran's Home.
In his youth, John was chosen to play for the little Quakers in Florida. He was quite an athlete, and this was a huge honor for him. He joined the Marine Corps at 17 years old for four years and fought courageously for his family and country in Viet Nam.
John could hold a room for hours with his great sense of humor and storytelling, especially about UFOs. He was a true Marine, a favorite uncle, a manly man, and always a gentleman. He was a gentle soul that never raised his voice.
John said his greatest success was his long lasting and loving marriage and his family.
And....."OH THOSE EYES."
