Edward Hagenkotter

Edward J. Hagenkotter, Jr., age 57, of Philadelphia, passed away on September 12, 2025.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, not only was Ed an Eagles fan but he was a true Philadelphian in every sense of the word. He was an incredible father to his 4 children and his 4 grandchildren. He had the gift of gab and his stories were so good he could talk to a wall and he was always the funniest guy in the room. He loved to share a meal with his friends and family and Cafe Carmela was a favorite destination. His friends who knew him best would get his advice on financial matters as well as his guidance for the best hot sauces. After high school, Ed went to work for SEPTA and ultimately became a Locomotive Engineer. His co-workers recognized his work ethic and always knew that if there would have been an 8th day of the week, Ed would have volunteered to work that day also.

Beloved husband of Lissette (nee Galindez). Devoted father of Edward Hagenkotter III, Frankie Vela, Emmi Hagenkotter and the late Gino Hagenkotter. Loving grandfather of Gina, Dylan, Sammy and Asher. Cherished Son of Patricia (nee Hamm) and the late Edward J. Hagenkotter, Sr. Dear brother of Paul, Patti, and Karen.
