Edward Flintermann, of Kennett Square, Age 93, passed away at his home on Feb. 21, 2010. Born in Bala Cynwyd, Edward graduated from Moorestown Friends High School and completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1940. He served in World War II (European Theater) with the Army Corp of Engineers from 1942 through 1945. He saw action in Normandy, Ardennes and central Europe receiving a Bronze Star. Upon returning from the war Edward managed the Philadelphia Skating Club and Humane Society in Ardmore, PA for over 30 years. Edward enjoyed the outdoors including hiking, water skiing, winter skiing and snow shoeing. During the summer months of 1955 until 1995 he served as both a counselor and director of outdoor activities at Camp Tecumseh, a boys camp in New Hampshire. Edward was predeceased by his brothers Peter and Carl Flintermann. He is survived by 5 nieces living in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Ohio.
