Madgey,\n\nCharles E. “Chuck”. Sept. 24, 2022. Age 80. Formerly of Kensington. Beloved husband of 56 years to Marianne (nee Mahler). Cherished father of Scott (Denise), Joseph and Michael (Traci). Devoted grandfather of Anne-Marie. Dear brother of James (Ted) and Madeline (Rod) Griffin and brother-in-law of Beverly Mahler. He will be missed by his granddog Brindy. \n\nChuck was the son of Harold and Julia (nee Dudeck) Madgey, He grew up in Kensington and was a terrific big brother to James and Madeline. He served in the Navy for three years as a radar man on several destroyers. While in the Navy he earned a GED as he had left high school early to help earn money to support the family. Shortly after receiving an honorable discharge he met the love of his life, Marianne. They married a year after their first date and had three beloved sons: Scott, Joe and Mike.\nHe earned an Associates in Accounting from Temple University.\n\nChuck worked hard to support his family working as a banking officer at Continental Bank and Midlantic Bank. During this time he worked many side jobs, including delivering Sunday papers for The Bulletin, to help support the family and the boys' education. In his 40s he began a tax accounting service that continued up until June 2022, when he took ill. He also worked as a Realtor for RE/MAX for a number of years. He enjoyed serving his tax and real estate clients, using his gifts to help them have better lives.\n\nHe was happiest when surrounded by his family, and was delighted to welcome his daughters-in-law Denise (Scott) and Traci (Mike) into the family. He adored his granddaughter, Anne-Marie and enjoyed spoiling his grand puppy, Brindy.\n\nAfter his family, his three biggest loves were Disney vacations, trips to the Shore and watching his Phillies. He was a man of few words. He could be hardheaded, but “Judge Judy” - his dear sister-in-law Beverly - kept him in line. He had a winning smile and a huge heart, caring deeply for family and friends. So he was loved by many, even when he didn't manage to get them a tax refund… 😃\n\nRelatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Fri. eve 6:00 – 8:00 PM at T.J Fluehr Funeral Home, 11010 Knights Rd. and again on Saturday from 9:15 – 10:15 AM at Christ the King Church, 3252 Chesterfield Rd Philadelphia, PA 19114.
