Antonia G. "Toni" Discher

Antonia G. (nee Gregorio) Discher, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at the age of 79.

Toni, as she was affectionately known, was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia. At the age of 17, she pursued her dream of becoming a hairdresser. She enjoyed a long, successful career behind the chair, making others beautiful while also making new friends.

Toni loved dancing, music, happy hours, and of course every event needed the proper Facebook check-in. She had an undeniable love for shoes and believed there was always room for one more pair —and she was usually right! She enjoyed ice cream, sweet treats and any opportunity to spend time with her family. Toni was an amazing cook, and cherished moments when she could cook her favorite Italian dishes for everyone. Toni was a devoted animal lover who cherished the company of many dogs throughout her life.

An avid traveler, Toni visited several countries and gorgeous islands over the years, but her heart always remained in her favorite place, North Wildwood.

Toni's presence was like sunshine. She had a beautiful warmth and brightness about her, and her caring nature made everyone feel valued.

Toni was predeceased by her beloved husband of 50 years, John R. Discher; her parents, Mary (nee Tosta) and Anthony Gregorio and several of her faithful dogs from throughout the years.

Loving mother of Cristi Keares and Staci (Chris) Collar; devoted Mom-Mom of Madison (Blake) Cooley, Cayla Keares and Audrey Collar and dear sister of Mary (late William) Lapp. Toni will also be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet her family on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 9:15 AM until 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Road, Philadelphia, PA, 19154. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Toni will be laid to rest privately alongside her husband Jack at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
